For those of you joining my new blog, welcome.
For those of you who have been reading my other blog, Lory's Journey, (you can click on the title, and it will take you to the other blog. Just make sure you start at the bottom right in August and read it in order) and traveling with me across the country and back, this is kind of a continuation of my trip, so welcome back.
I know I'm not finished my other blog, Lory's Journey, yet, but I promise I will finish it...someday...soon.
I wanted to start this blog because so many things are happening at my new job as The RV Girl at RV Solutions that I want to try to keep you up to date on those things too.
Just to review, I decided that for my 50th birthday, I wanted to travel the country in our RV, which is a 28-foot travel trailer pulled by our F-250 diesel truck, and explore America; visit family and friends; meet new friends; see the leaves changing in the Fall and whatever else God had planned for me.
So that's what I did!
I started September 4, 2013. I left San Diego; traveled south to Texas; went all the way down to San Antonio and over to Corpus Christi up to Louisiana; did an upside down U and went to Memphis, Nashville, Alabama; came back down and went to Atlanta, as far south as Spring Hill, Florida, up the East Coast of Florida all the way up the East Coast to Maine; across to Chicago; down to Tulsa; through Albuquerque; up to St. George, UT, down to Las Vegas and home to
San Diego on November 16, 2013!
That was 12,000 miles, 30 states in 72 days!
America is so beautiful!
My trip was all I had hoped it would be and more. The people were great! The food was awesome! The scenery was spectacular! I loved seeing every bit of the incredible country that we live in.
Please read my other blog, Lory's Journey, for the almost complete story of my trip.
Back in January 2013, I started doing crazy, odd jobs to make money for my trip.
I cleaned houses, did yard work, painted houses, filled vending machines, delivered flowers for Valentine's Day and Mother's Day and cleaned RVs.
Yes...I cleaned RVs.
The first one I got to clean was this one.
I was so excited just to get to go into it, AND I was going to be able to spend the day in it, touch everything AND get paid.
It was great!
I know...I'm weird! For some weird reason, I just love RVs...every kind.
I love looking at them;
I love the thought of traveling in them,
and I even loved cleaning them...
well, I don't know if I should say "loved" Maybe just liked a lot.
As the year went on, I got to clean lots of RVs including this $1,500,000 one!
As I was loving being in them and even cleaning them, I decided I'd rather SELL them when I got back than clean them.
So my boss, Jeff Elliot of Action RV & Auto Detail (858-688-6176) spoke to Cory, my NEW boss, at
RV Solutions in San Diego and asked him if I could apply for the job when I got back from my trip.
After I returned, I met with Cory a couple of times, and RV Solutions decided to give me a chance at selling RVs for them.
I've worked there for three weeks now. It's been a little stressful because I have A LOT TO LEARN. The great thing for me is that I have A LOT TO LEARN about RVs, and I LOVE RVs, so it's been heaven for me. Everyone I work with has been so nice and helpful. Someday when I figure out how to do the job, I know I'm going to love it. I even sold a motor home already (with some help), and I've had a few close calls where I ALMOST sold some others.
I already have a couple of stories to tell about my new job as The RV Girl.
I hope you'll follow along with me on this adventure too.
